Come on...let's take a walk

Chances are that if you're here, you know something about my story.

Nearly two years ago, I survived a vetricular arrhythmia. That's a lot of syllables that mean I nearly dropped dead from a funky heart rhythm. But I survived. I have a defibrillator implanted in my chest that delivers one helluva jolt in this sort of situation. And it worked, I'm delighted to say!

My mother wasn't so lucky. She had the same funky rhythm back in 1994, but without the help of an ICD she became a victim of sudden cardiac death.

A lot of time has passed and great strides have been made in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac conditions, especially the one Mom and I shared. I could fill a night of patio sitting with stories related to my own experiences, but I'll give you an easy alternative to my long-winded monologue.

Click here to help me raise important funds for the American Heart Association. I'll be taking part in the Heart Mini on Sunday, March 13, and I'm in need of sponsors just like you. I set a fairly lofty goal for myself, but I have a vested interest in the success of this event and the ongoing efforts to keep people on the vertical plane, if you get my drift.

By the way, if you want the gory details, you can read about my experience here.

I would greatly appreciate any donation you can afford. Thanks...from the bottom of my funky heart.
